May 2010 Most of the trees bloomed last month but here is the Japanese Cherry and the Redbud. Even the sucker at the base of the Cherry is blooming. The wind has ripped up most of the tulips but the Phlox [white and purple] is awesome. Below, all is well in the Spring shade bed. |

The Magnolia is still a baby but has blooms like a tulip. Below is an Anenome, the ferns, and a Soloman Seal. |

The perennial Verbena

Not all the stars are blooms, this Weeping Larch and Black Stalking Meadow Rue will really catch your eye. Below, the blue Columbine and purple Allium surround the tough Peony tree that continues to bloom despite our accidental attempts to kill it. |

Here is a ground cover that can beat about any weed [Ajuga]. To the right, our first fruit crop this year will be Nectarines. Some of the late Spring flowers are this Gazania and Meadow Rue. In the middle are several pallets of used bricks delivered to pave our new pathways. |

Isn't it fun when you get a plant shipped in and you get to plant it blooming like this Jack-in-the-Pulpet. This year the variegated Iris is loaded with blooms after two years with none. Below the Bachelar Buttons, Columbine and Clematis are signaling the end of Spring. |

All of the Clematis are just starting to bloom. We are getting the old and new pots and containers filled and in place. Please, no more hail! The water is warming up, the fish are hungry and the string algae is horrible this year. All of our baby Hosta's are growing up. |

Our baby Circus Peony is finally coming of age [3rd year]. It was worth the wait. Columbine, Wegelia, and Lamium (what a pretty ground cover!). What next? How about June. |
