It was a wonderful gathering organized by George and others with well over a hundred people, all gathered to pay tribute to my mom. To list all who came would not be possible so I will simply say thank you to all of you who made this such a special occasion. The various garden clubs, 'Back Yard Farmer' folk,  'Let's Get Growing' and many long time co-workers from the hospital and even our neighbors.

My mom does not enjoy being fussed over but I think  she really enjoyed her special day.

Mom's big surprise was delivered by the mayor herself, who declared it officially 'Gladys Jeurink' Day.

A uniquely landscaped cake was carved and served along with other varieties of food. No one went home hungry.

Of course I couldn't let her steal all of the attention.

Many of her former co-workers from the hospital were in attendance along with all of the garden community.

Nice Job George, the gathering was spectacular. A special garden function can not run more smoothly without Kim Todd. Steve Nosal and others spoke about Gladys's gardening contributions.
